The congregation, including some of the founder members, extend you a warm welcome to the Church of the Holy Nativity, Chapel House, Newcastle upon Tyne. We hope you enjoy exploring the information in our website and that we may have the opportunity to welcome you to the community's church.
Our Church Our Community
The PCC is delighted to announce that Reverend Canon Peter Kenney has been appointed to be the next priest-in-charge of Holy Nativity and will be licensed into the post this summer. Peter has been a minister in Newcastle Diocese for 33 years, and was a team vicar of St Wilfrid's in Newbiggin Hall during the eighties. He is the Bishop's Advisor in Pastoral Care and Counselling and an Honorary Canon of Newcastle Cathedral. He will continue in these roles as well as serving part-time in Chapel House. He will bring valuable experience and skill to the parish.

'Outside In' - Big Lottery News
The PCC are delighted to announce that the Big Lottery Fund has awarded the Holy Nativity 'Outside In' Community Project a capital grant of £500,000. This is tremendously encouraging news.
Holy Nativity would like to thank the Big Lottery for their guidance and friendly support during the 2 year development process. We have learned new skills and developed competencies beyond our imaginations, all of which will be invaluable for the 'Outside In' Project as it unfolds in Chapel House.
THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the project so far with their time, skills and donations - these undoubtedly helped us to obtain the Big Lottery award.
Welcome to Ordinary Time…
This is the long 'green season' and it doesn't mean commonplace or average. It comes from "ordinal", which simply means "counted time". Ordinary time occurs at two times in the year: the two or three weeks in February between Epiphany and Lent, and the long period after Pentecost until the Kingdom Season in November. The long period of Ordinary Time is used to focus on God's work in the world and in our lives.
- We will…
- Offer a warm welcome to those who join us for the worship of God
- Share the good news of the gospel with those around us
- Build up our christian fellowship together
- Seek ways of joyfully serving the community
- Support the work of the church at home and abroad
- Supporting our community…
- We offer space on the website to local businesses we support and who themselves support the church and local community.
